Selling guide
The used-car seller's checklist
Nine steps to a faster sale at a higher price — in the order that actually works, from gathering your records to signing the title.

Gather your records and receipts
Pull together every service invoice, parts receipt, and repair record you have. This is the backbone of your sale — a documented car is worth noticeably more than an undocumented one. If your history lives in a MyGlovebox garage, it’s already organized into one timeline.
Fix the cheap, obvious issues
Burnt-out bulbs, wiper blades, a low tire, a check-engine light for a $20 sensor — knock out the small stuff. Buyers read minor faults as “what else was ignored?” and discount far more than the repair would have cost.
Clean and detail it
Wash, vacuum, wipe down the interior, and clear out your junk. A clean car photographs better and signals it was cared for. A professional detail often pays for itself in the first offer.
Take good photos
Shoot in daylight, from all four corners, plus the interior, engine bay, tires, and odometer. Twenty honest photos build more trust than five flattering ones — and cut the tire-kicker messages.
Research your price
Check comparable local listings and a couple of valuation tools for your exact year, trim, and mileage. Price against reality, then leave a little room to negotiate.
Write an honest listing
State the year, trim, mileage, condition, and any known issues plainly. Mention that you have full service records — documentation is a headline feature, not a footnote.
Create your MyGlovebox share link
Generate a read-only, receipt-verified history page and drop the link in your listing. It turns “well-maintained” from a claim into something the buyer can actually verify — before they even message you.
Meet safely
Meet in a busy public place in daylight — many police stations have designated exchange zones. Bring someone with you, and ride along for test drives or hold a photo of the driver’s license.
Handle the paperwork and title
Sign the title over correctly, complete a bill of sale, remove your plates, and file any release-of-liability your state requires. Confirm payment has fully cleared before you hand over the keys.
Get your history ready to hand over.
